String and Fader Preview Show
An eclectic night of electroacoustic chamber music, remixes, folktronica, and exotic ballads. Presented by String & Fader (remix collective/events/label) as part of their “Versus” series, Audrey Harrer performs her upcoming release Alphabet Rain in entirety, accompanied by a string quintet from the Cambridge Philharmonic.
“Versus” is a remix/collaboration project resulting in a concert and free album on the String & Fader label, featuring remixes of songs off Alphabet Rain by electronic music artists Robot Love, Mozrat, Dumka, Muddy Wires, Jacob Rosati, and others. The evening will open with a short acoustic performance by Kuwaiti singer/songwriter Yousif Yaseen, followed by Cambridge Philharmonic readings of string quintet works by Christopher Barnes (Gem Club), Chadley (String & Fader), Danny Fratina (Beantown Swing Orchestra), and Will Ponturo. Local folktronica duo Skinny Bones will play a few of their dreamy, melodic song collages, all leading up to Audrey’s performance. Remixes will be played between sets. Amplification design by Stompbox Sonic.
